Fantasy for young readers should be clean and immersive without compromising on depth.
Wandering around the bookstore, you find yourself stuck between two bookshelves. The vibrant fantasy for younger children cries out with messages of hope and sparks the imagination… but you’re growing out of the cheesy storylines and, besides, you’ve already read most of the good stuff. And then there’s the shelf of books for teens, stepping up in levels of maturity… but too much and with content you don’t actually want to be reading, never mind how dark and twisted most of it is.
Being this age is a difficult time of life anyway; there’s so much you still have to learn, but you’re not ready to throw away the joy and whimsy you so loved in your childhood books. You want something to prepare you for the real world by addressing the darkness but reminding you that you do not need to be overcome by it.

Hello! My name is Bethany.
As a child, I learned to love immersive stories that both spark imagination and strengthen character. But when I started to grow up, I realised that many books published for young readers today introduce content and themes that I didn’t want to be reading. However, I had grown out of the children's’ books that weren’t as deep as I needed.
So I write for those readers who feel stuck in between. I have a great passion for shining light to highlight the truth– there is grace, hope, peace, joy, and love to be found, despite the world’s darkness.
